This time i thought of doing something different, going through internet to compare others work with my thoughts and giving my final conclusion, what i think for it.

So moving on, I picked up a topic that actually has diversified opinions. remember that some days back, I wrote an article about learning a different language to enhance your spectrum and to have a perk over the others, to know about many other cultures. like this only i talked many other benefits of choosing this as your after school activity.

But when i went through the vast internet world to see what others think about it, i got startled..!!
America, to be known as the world’s strongest and one of the most developed nation, believes in one language policy. Barack Obama, the ex-president in Georgia during one of his speeches said that America should learn more langauges. Like seriously..!! 9/11 has created an awareness of the need to know more about the rest of the world, and the best way to know is learning the languages of the world. so why should one discourage it.? I felt terrible to know this.

Though it felt really good that Europe is moving towards Multilingualism. they have also kind of made a Statistics – Eurostat to promote atleast varied languages in its territory. Studying a second foreign language for at least one year is compulsory in more than 20 European countries.
In most European countries, students begin studying their first foreign language as a compulsory school subject between the ages of 6 and 9, according to a2012 Eurostats work, the statistics arm of the European Commission.

“A popular stereotype of Americans traveling abroad is the tourist who is at a loss when it comes to coping with any language other than English. “

There are so many different school and college policies around the globe. “For example, California requires one course in either the arts or a foreign language (including American Sign Language) for all high school students. Oklahomans can opt to take two years of the same foreign language or “of computer technology approved for college admission requirements.” Conversely, New Jersey students must earn “at least five credits in world languages” or demonstrate proficiency in a language other than English before they can graduate high school.”

So many institutions promote this practice , many don’t. if yours don’t, go for it yourself.

Afterall the benefits of this would really spoil you to choose it.

I actually don’t even consider this as one of a debatable topic. !! many reports online even say that Foreign Languages are a waste of Time. So now the decision lies in your hand.
But what I think and want to conclude is that “Mastering the vocabulary of a second language enhances student comprehension and abilities in reading, writing, mathematics and other subjects.”

From all this one thing we must learn is that nothing is as small or timid as we think. actually we should not consider anything worthless. everything in this world is of some use.! and i personally do believe that stepping into a world of newness would be really exciting and fascinating and knowledgeable ofcousre. so why not give it a try..!!
